Ned Hunt

President

Ned started Ashe County Wrestling Club to help young men learn how to compete at the highest levels in High School Wrestling. With an emphasis on personal physical and mental development, ACWC will help lay the foundation for success in sports, as well as life after High School.

Originally from South Florida, Ned's background is in Emergency Medicine. After being in charge of Ocean Rescue in South Florida, Ned and his family moved to the NC Mountains where he was a Medic and Firefighter before starting his own business in the roofing and renewable energy industry. Ned competed in multiple sports including Football, Basketball, Baseball, Lacrosse, Swimming, Boxing and Jiu Jitsu. He has previous coaching experience in Lacrosse and Swimming, and previously was a licensed personal trainer.

Kaithe Hunt

Vice President

Kaithe is a loving wife and mother of two very fine young men. She is the one who is really running things here. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Kaithe spent many years as a nurse in the NICU units before moving to S. Florida, where she met her husband Ned. After moving to the mountains, Kaithe continued her nursing career at Watauga Medical Center and Ashe Family Healthcare. Now she trains diabetic patients with OmniPod and councils her patients on how to make better health decisions that help them manage their diabetes.

Jason Wood

Head Coach

Jason wrestled through middle and high school in Watauga County. After a short break, he began Jiu Jitsu and wrestling again, working with high level instructors to strengthen his game and learn how to teach fundamentals. He is a family man with a beautiful wife and daughter. Jason also volunteers as the Chairman of the Board for Casting Bread Food Pantry. He has had the privilege of teaching wrestling at Grounded Arts Jiu Jitsu in West Jefferson, working with grapplers to improve their games. Jason trains diligently in multiple combat sports disciplines.
